well, it's confirmed. i hate working in an office. hate. loathe. despise. so that confirms it--bollo's (a local blacksburg coffee shop) will remain my office until the end of graduate school (which, for those of you who are wondering, could be only just another year---ahhh!). so, i wasn't sure if i just tended to drift to bollo's all these years because the graduate cubes in the sociology department were more conducive to conversation than work (as if a coffee shop where you know everyone isn't). but nope, that must not have been it. it must be the fact that well, it's kind of an office. and in kuwait, sitting here blogging in my own private office (complete with both door and window), i'm reminded of this simple fact. i don't like working in an office. at all. ever.
perhaps this realization/affirmation is a timely one. there is a possibility, although i'm not sure how grand, that i may graduate one day. and then what? meredith, in case you forgot, academics do tend to work in these four enclosed walls you despise. so now, as if turning 29 tomorrow wasn't enough stress in my life, i'm left to wonder what exactly i want to do when i grow up. suggestions are welcome :)

I would think sociology would offer you much opportunity to interact with people, but perhaps I don't understand your field? :)
