slacker.

friends, sorry i've been a slacker on the blogs as of late. gosh, i don't know how people keep a blog going all year--i can barely manage just for the summer. so, here's some highlights as of late:

- school's out. yesterday was my last day of teaching. woo hoo. had breakfast with students today. peace out.

- vacation. tonight i'm headed to the siani peninsula/red sea for a little vacation--laying on the beach, swimming with fishes, drinking wine. i'm excited. and as some of you have warned me, i'll make sure not to get stuck on my balcony like i did last year.

- home. we are all anxious to return home. this summer has been good for me. a true realization of the things i do actually value about the united states (never thought you'd hear me say that, huh!? :). we fly home tuesday evening and arrive in blacksburg wednesday night. if you're around the 'burg, there's a little welcome back party at the rivermill thursday (aug 20) at 7 pm. c'mon out.

ok, i think that's all for now. i'll try to take some photos in marsa alam and post them when i return. can't wait to see many of you in just under a week! peace from the middle east.
